The adherents of Tijanniyah Muslim sect in Nigeria has recently postponed the annual festive celebration of their renown scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse, over the widespread of Coronavirus.
An Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, stated this while addressing the congregation at his Abuja resident yesterday.

In his statement, he stated “God’s willing, the forthcoming Maulud (festive) scheduled to hold at Abuja and Sokoto State on March 21, 2020, has been postponed due to the pandemic Coronavirus”
“We are going to leave it until Allah takes total control of the situation”, the sheikh said.

The cleric who received an order of postponement from their eminent scholar in Senegal, Sheikh Ahmad Tijani Ibrahim Niasse, disclosed that the festive is not only for Nigeria nationals but for Tijaniyah followers worldwide.
He added: “In order to avoid the widespread of the disease in Nigeria, we have postponed the gathering till further notice”
Expressing his dismay over the pandemic virus, he lamented the closure of Tijaniyah mosque in Morrocco, where the founder of Tijaniyah, Sheikh Ahmad Tijani hailed from.
“They have even banned Fridays congregational prayers” he stated.
The cleric who enjoined all Nigerian to pray over the virus also urged his co-followers to remain calm and seek God’s intervention.
