The former Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has recently vowed to complete the long-abandoned Senate Building project of Niger State Government-owned Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.
He made the decision while addressing the Management team of the University led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Saba Mohammed visited him at his UpHill residence in Minna, the capital of Niger State.
The experienced Head of State who expressed his pleasure over the courtesy visit by the University’s Management, also prayed that the University would continue to grow from strength to strength.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Saba Mohammed, in his remarks, thanked the General for his tremendous and excellent services he is rendering to the country and humanity, especially IBB University, Lapai.
He explained to the former President that the University is anticipating the completion of its Senate Building.
He stated, “the building is the biggest outstanding legacy project yet to be completed”.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor who is also the incumbent Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration urged the former Head of State to come to the rescue of the University using his immense influence and connections.
Among the Management tram are personalities like the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Dr. Muhammad Aliyu Paiko; Registrar, Alhaji Musa Ango Abdullahi; Bursar, Alhaji Abdul Garba.
Others are, Director Academic Planning, Dr. Muhammad Bello Aliyu; Dean Student Affairs, Dr Bashir Danlami Sarkin Daji; and Alhaji Babangida Bala Jatau, Deputy Registrar, Council and Management Affairs respectively.
The team, therefore, offered prayers for the life of the experienced General, the University, Niger State, and the nation at large.
